Brickhouse, the barn where Zavier and Lexi ride, shares facilities and horses with Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (CATR). Not only has it been a joy to watch Zavier and Lexi ride, but also to watch the wonderful staff, volunteers, and horses working with CATR students. Zavier and Lexi have chosen to join Team Dixie to raise money for CATR's Pony Up Movie Night. They are especially fond of Dixie as she is the pony they began their riding lessons on at Brickhouse and Lexi still frequently rides her. 

Please help Zavier and Lexi "Pony Up" for Team Dixie!  Each $25 they raise will provide a therapy horse for one lesson for a student with a disability.. Their goal is to raise $200. 

Meet Dixie

Dixie is a Welsh pony mare born in 2000.  She is the smallest member of the CATR herd. She may be little, but she is a mighty therapy horse!  From ground lessons to helping a student learn to canter, Dixie can do it all!

At Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, therapy horses like Dixie are the foundation of our program.  Their forgiving temperaments, calm spirits and steady gaits bring joy, mobility and achievement to the children and adults with disabilities who ride at CATR.  For each of our students, a therapy horse can be one of their most meaningful companions, providing them with a uniquely rewarding and life-changing experience. 

We hope you will Pony Up for CATR!  A donation of just $25 gives a student the most valuable piece of their therapeutic riding lesson – a therapy horse!
