Meet Dixie
Dixie is a Welsh pony mare born in 2000. She is the smallest member of the CATR herd. She may be little, but she is a mighty therapy horse! From ground lessons to helping a student learn to canter, Dixie can do it all!
At Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, therapy horses like Dixie are the foundation of our program. Their forgiving temperaments, calm spirits and steady gaits bring joy, mobility and achievement to the children and adults with disabilities who ride at CATR. For each of our students, a therapy horse can be one of their most meaningful companions, providing them with a uniquely rewarding and life-changing experience.
