It's a bird... It's a plane... NO! It's SuperDAN! Many of you may have heard or seen the many great adventures of Superman... but at Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, he is better known as SuperDAN! Since I began working at CATR this past May, I have already witnessed the incredible work that our therapy horses do each week. Dan is just one of the horse heroes at CATR, but so far I have already seen him help countless new young riders conquer their fears of working with such a large animal. It is easy to see how safe riders feel as soon as they mount their trusty steed, Dan.

Every $25 donated pays for the use of one of our therapy horses, like Dan (also affectionately known as Dan the Man and Dapper Dan), for one therapeutic riding lesson. Please help me to Pony Up for SuperDAN and see how many of his lessons we can pay for this year! Thank you for your support!





 

Meet Dan

Dan is a Percheron cross gelding born in 1997.  Affectionately known as "Dan the Man" by many students, Dan is a white horse that looks like he walked right out of a fairy tale.  He is especially popular in CATR's Public School Program. All of the students want to ride Dan!

At Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, therapy horses like Dan are the foundation of our program.  Their forgiving temperaments, calm spirits and steady gaits bring joy, mobility and achievement to the children and adults with disabilities who ride at CATR.  For each of our students, a therapy horse can be one of their most meaningful companions, providing them with a uniquely rewarding and life-changing experience. 

We hope you will Pony Up for CATR!  A donation of just $25 gives a student the most valuable piece of their therapeutic riding lesson – a therapy horse!
