Meet Pride

Pride is an Irish Sport Horse gelding born in 2006.  He is typically a little lazy, but when an experienced rider takes him over jumps, he can move with speed and agility.  His athleticism has made him an asset to CATR's Interactive Vaulting Program where he loves playing games with the students!


 

Bonnie and Jerry Kelly of the Kelly Family Foundation kicked off our Pony Up for CATR Campaign with a $25,000 challenge match!  Thanks to their generosity, all donations will be DOUBLED!

We hope you will Pony Up for CATR!  A donation of just $25 gives a student an essential piece of their therapeutic riding lesson – a therapy horse!

At Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, therapy horses are the foundation of our program.  Their forgiving temperaments, calm spirits and steady gaits bring joy, mobility and achievement to the children and adults with disabilities who ride at CATR.  For each of our students, a therapy horse can be one of their most meaningful companions, providing them with a uniquely rewarding and life-changing experience.

CATR's Herd is full of wonderful horses so it can be difficult to pick favorites, but Pride is the perfect horse! While his abilities certainly make him shine, it's his loving, goofy personality that endears him to everyone he meets.

 He genuinely loves his job as the Interactive Vaulting horse. You can just see him light up when you put him on the lunge line and he knows we're about to vault! We couldn't ask for a better teammate. 

Donating to Team Pride will provide CATR students with such a special gift.
