Run for the Roses
For each rose you purchase in CATR's Run for the Roses, you are giving a CATR student a therapeutic riding lesson and the opportunity to make progress, find joy and move beyond the limitations of their disability.
Thank you for supporting the many children, adults and veterans who benefit from participating in CATR's Programs!
*1 rose = 1 therapeutic riding lesson
Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (CATR) improves the lives of children and adults with disabilities at the area's oldest nationally accredited therapeutic horseback riding center. Since establishment in 1991, CATR’s purpose has been to provide quality therapeutic riding sessions. Ten Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) certified instructors, 150 volunteers, and twelve horses work together to serve over 140 students each year in three different programs. Individual Therapeutic Riding Instruction is open to children and adults with a disability. The Public School Program provides therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities to students from special education classrooms from local public schools. CATR’s Veterans Program delivers horsemanship skills and therapeutic riding to wounded service men and women.
All of CATR’s programs provide an exceptional therapeutic opportunity for individuals to move beyond their disabilities to find accomplishment through riding and interacting with horses.
